Kat joined St Mary’s in 2010 after completing her training at Westcott
House in Cambridge, which included a degree in theology from Cambridge
University. She was ordained deacon in 2010 in a service at St
Mary’s, and priest in 2011 at Southwark Cathedral. Before training for
ordination she worked in the voluntary sector, including work at a students’
union and working with people with learning disabilities, and spent two years
as a lay chaplain at Imperial College London.
Kat received a degree in
English and Related Literature from the University of York in 2002. She
represented Southwark diocese as a lay member of General Synod from 2005-2010,
and is involved at a national level with GRAS and WATCH, organisations
concerned with gender equality in the Church of England. Kat has been married to Pete since 2006, and their daughter Astrid was
born in 2010. Kat has been known to join the Occasional Singers, and can
often be found riding her bike around the parish with Astrid on the back
pointing out the local landmarks.
