Our Curate, Revd. Kat Campion-Spall

Kat joined St Mary’s in 2010 after completing her training at Westcott House in Cambridge, which included a degree in theology from Cambridge University.

She was ordained deacon in 2010 in a service at St Mary’s, and priest in 2011 at Southwark Cathedral.  Before training for ordination she worked in the voluntary sector, including work at a students’ union and working with people with learning disabilities, and spent two years as a lay chaplain at Imperial College London.

Kat received a degree in English and Related Literature from the University of York in 2002.  She represented Southwark diocese as a lay member of General Synod from 2005-2010, and is involved at a national level with GRAS and WATCH, organisations concerned with gender equality in the Church of England.

Kat has been married to Pete since 2006, and their daughter Astrid was born in 2010.  Kat has been known
to join the Occasional Singers, and can often be found riding her bike around the parish with Astrid on the back pointing out the local landmarks.
