More
tea, Vicar?
St
Mary's Church, 8pm
on Saturday 18 July
Parish Players are
pleased to invite you to an extra performance this
year, in between the usual play and pantomime. “More tea, Vicar?” is a
light-hearted evening of readings (from Parish Players) and organ music
(arranged by Karl Dorman). Included will be a range of organ pieces and
some
mostly light-hearted readings on churches, choirs, churchyards and
parish
politics by a range of authors.
Come and hear – among others
-
what Thomas Hardy had to say about organists who fall out with vicars,
and John
Betjeman’s wise words on parish quotas, visiting Archdeacons and how
you can
always blame the vicar for everything.
The performance will take place
in the Church at 8pm on Saturday 18 July and will last just over an
hour, followed by
refreshments.
Free entry –
no tickets needed –
just turn up. Retiring collection.
