It gives me great pleasure that John Pryer has agreed to come and give the
first of our celebrity organ recitals 2008.
John studied at Clifton with the famous organist Mr Fox, notorious for
playing the organ with one hand due to a war injury. He was an Oxford Organ
Scholar and has worked at Birmingham Metropolitan and Anglican Cathedrals.
He is a renowned improviser and has performed across Europe including Notre
Dame, Paris.
He visits St. Mary's on Sunday 27 January at 7.30pm to dazzle us with his
improvising skills and entertain us with his non-PC organ management in
which he extracts as much colour as possible from the organ. A concert not
to be missed!!!
Watch out for celebrity organ recital two (date to be confirmed) when Thomas
Dahl (Kappelmeister, St. Petri Hamburg) visits St. Mary's with pieces by
Bach and Reger!

Director of Music
