We received this email from New Zealand requesting information on the
Littler family. It's thought that members of the family are buried in St
Mary's churchyard. Can anyone shed any light on this family? If so please

I am cruising the web all the way from New Zealand to find information on St
Mary’s at Merton, Surrey and have found your site. What an excellent site
you have – informative, easy to find your way round and not too heavy and
very welcoming. I have read and enjoyed the articles on the history of the
parish and some of its people.
I am hoping you may be able to point me in the right direction. I am a
descendant of the Littler family of the Merton Silk Printing Works (I
believe they were the producers of the famous Liberty fabrics in the early
years of that business) and have a 1924 letter in my possession from someone
in business who knew my Littler families - they state that there are Littler
burials in St Mary’s graveyard. I am hoping I have the right St Mary’s.
How I wish I could pop in and have a look for myself!!
If
you have anyone who is interested in history and the families in the area, I
would be very grateful if you could forward my email to them and any other
help you can give me.
