On
Saturday July 8th St Mary's choir are hosting a recruitment morning
and sponsored sing. I will be writing to local schools inviting children to
come and experience a choir for themselves in the hope of swelling our
already successful treble line. The morning will take the shape of a
sponsored sing and members of our church and local community are invited to
attend with favourite hymn requests, all money raised will go towards paying
for new choir robes as our current ones are over twenty years old and
desperately need replacing!
So
think of a favourite hymn, bring some loose change, or a potentially
interested treble and come to church between ten and twelve and hear our
choir!
After singing, the trebles, including new recruits, will be going bowling to
socialise and let off steam on a trip that should have happened long before
now but, due to my illness, has been delayed.
Support for the Choir is strong within the Parish but to secure its future
we really need to get behind recruiting new singers so please support this
event!
