Prayers
during an interregnum
Almighty God,
our heavenly Father, giver of every good gift: be pleased to hear the
prayers of thy people, and send to us as the vicar of this parish a person
of thine own heart who shall faithfully and wisely exercise the cure of
souls, to the good of thy church and the glory of thy name; through Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Oh God, who
knowest the needs of thy church in every place: look graciously at this time
upon the people of this parish, and give to them a faithful pastor who shall
serve before thee in all diligence and lowliness of heart, and, by thy
blessing, bring many souls to the joys of thine eternal kingdom; through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
