You will I am sure recognise that you have heard enough from me in
the magazine recently so this letter is very brief. Firstly some people
have been appreciative of the sermon on the seven deadly sins and have
asked for that to be published so you will find it in this months magazine.
To prepare a sermon for publication requires further editing sometimes so
that is one reason why I am brief.
The second is I want to draw your attention to the
main services in November and the special sermons. Full details of these
are in the calendar. We have a visiting preacher on November 16th
the Revd David Mason who will be preaching on the theme of prisons to mark
the churches National Prisoners Week. We shall also welcome Patricia
Hutchison as our preacher on Sunday 23rd
November
Advent
Study Groups
We shall be studying a booklet entitled ‘Looking & Longing’ by David
Adam one of our foremost Celtic spirituality writers. The first of these is
on 24th November and will meet in
the Parish Room. These study groups will be led by Norman Start and John
Hillier.
