We had a very
good celebration of our Patronal festival and many thanks to all of you
who contributed to the high standard of worship and sense of community.
We were especially pleased to have Bishop Richard with us and also the
choir who had returned from their summer break and, under James’s
guidance, enriched our worship with their music. I am also grateful for
all those who helped with the catering both at lunchtime and in the
evening.
I would also like to thank a stalwart group of men under the leadership
of John Hillier who have during the summer erected a new shed for the
church’s tractor, demolished another and repaired a third. By this use
of voluntary labour we have saved a considerable amount of money and the
tractor is now secure. All this was necessary because of the break- ins
to the existing sheds over the years.
PCC
Awayday
The members of the PCC are spending a day together on Saturday 25th
October. This provides an opportunity for fellowship, worship and
discussion for members of the PCC as we meet together as the
representatives of the parish. Will you please remember us in your
prayers.

Fair
Angela Hawkins and her helpers are already busy organising this event.
It will take place on Saturday 8th
November. Please support the fair in any way you can and not least by
being there on the day.
Plans for new
service
We shall be launching a new monthly
‘Evening Praise Service’ in the New Year. It will take place in the
Hall on the 4th
Sunday of each month at 5:00pm. It is particularly aimed at people with
families who do not at present attend any services. Full details and
publicity material will be available shortly. Meanwhile can you pray
for this new venture and hope that we can reach those people which
present services do not reach.
Your priest and friend
Tom Leary
