Our
Memorial is badly in need of repair and a good clean. Although the Memorial
is placed on the corner of the graveyard, its up-keep is really down to
us, local residents, members of St. Mary's, and charities, to provide funds
for the repair.
I
have applied to English Heritage for a grant. They have awarded: a very
generous grant, but we are short of approx.£3000.00. As the St. Mary’s
team is busy organising the Lord Nelson celebration this September our fund
raising will take place later this autumn.
We
must remember that the guys who gave their lives in the 1st.& 2nd World Wars
allow us to enjoy this 21st century.
