Pplogo.gif (1648 bytes)Parish Players was founded in 1956 and is an amateur theatre group who meet regularly on Tuesday evenings in St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Path, Merton Park, London SW19.

We aim to put on at least two productions a year – one a pantomime during the first couple of weeks of January, followed by a production in May.

Recent summer productions have included Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit', 'Little Shop of Horrors', Shakespeare’s 'Twelfth Night', 'Oh What a Lovely War ',  ‘Hobson’s Choice’ by Harold Brighouse. ‘Arcadia’ by Tom Stoppard,  Wilde’s ‘Importance of Being Earnest’  and ‘Cabaret’.

Sometimes we put on productions at other times of the year. For instance, we performed RC Sherriff's ‘Journey’s End’ in November 1993, and in 2005 an evening of readings and songs to mark the two hundredth anniversary of the death of St Mary's most famous parishioner, Admiral Lord Nelson.
We again performed  'Journey's End' in November 2008 to mark the 90th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
