Getting married

St Mary’s is the perfect setting for a wedding, and each year many couples choose it for their special day.

Not only is St Mary's blessed with our picturesque and historic Church, we have the beautiful Glebe Field which is just a stroll through the churchyard.

Music has always played an important role at St Mary’s. The playing of our new pipe organ or grand piano can lead the music, a choir can support the singing and the ancient bells can be rung in celebration.

Brides may arrive in a variety of ways, but once at church the bride need not step into another vehicle until the dancing’s done. Having emerged through the decorated north door and been greeted by family and friends and a shower of confetti, the happy couple can walk hand in hand to their reception in the Glebe field surrounded by trees and wild flowers. There’s plenty of room for marquees and tipis, or if you prefer you could opt for the Parish Hall. All catering facilities are on hand.
